Microblading

What is Microblading?

Microblading is the technique used to create ultra fine hair strokes to the eyebrow using tiny needles and pigment to create fuller, natural looking brows.

This treatment is perfect for someone who has thinning, sparse brows, lacks brow shape or just requires a few tiny hair strokes to perfect an already full brow.

I work closely with every client throughout the entire process from initial consultation right up to your 12-18 month top up to ensure you are happy with the end result.

The express pedicure includes nail filing and application of Jessica nail polish or Geleration gel.
(This treatment does not include any gel removal, clipping, cuticle work or removal of hard skin).

Consultation

This is a very important step in the process for both parties to understand expectations and to discuss the treatment in depth including the desired brow shape and pigment colour. We will also ascertain if there are any contra-indications which might prevent the treatment from being carried out. If both parties are happy to proceed, then a scratch/patch test will be performed to ensure there will be no allergic reaction to the pigment. The initial consultation will last approximately 1 hour. A non-refundable deposit of £50 will also be taken at this point to secure your booking.

Treatment

Please do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment, do not take aspirin or Ibuprofen 48 hours prior or post treatment and do not wax or tint the brows 2 weeks prior to treatment. If you have had no adverse reaction to the scratch/patch test then we will proceed with the treatment.

Firstly we will draw and map out a new brow shape and mark where any new hair strokes will be placed. Once you are happy we will begin the treatment by using a sterile disposable microblading tool to insert pigment in the upper layer of the skin. You will feel a slight scratch per hair stroke and will possibly experience slight bleeding, redness and soreness. The pigment colour will look up to 50% darker immediately after the treatment but will fade over 7 days. The treatment normally takes between 2 - 3 hours.

Aftercare & Top-Up

Aftercare is an extremely important part of your microblading journey and it’s imperative that you follow all aftercare advice given to ensure your brows look their best. Post treatment your brows will start to heal and have tiny scabs which will fall off over the course of a few weeks. It’s very important that you do not rub, scratch or pick the scabs off before they are ready as this could pull out some of the pigment. Do not use vaseline or creams on the brows, however tempting this may be, as the area will need to dry out for quicker healing. Avoid direct sunlight or sunbeds for 2 weeks post treatment as the UV rays can fade the pigment.

After 6 weeks you will be invited to come for a post-treatment check and top-up. Everyone heals differently and some of the pigment may have been lost during healing which will need to be topped up at this stage. Depending on how much your brows need topping up, this appointment will last between 1 - 2 hours.

Colour Boosts

These appointments are offered at either 6 months, 12 months or 18 months where we will go over each hair stroke to add more pigment to boost the colour and intensity. You may even wish to have some additional hair strokes at this stage.
